Hello Baxter House Friends! What a wonderful summer we are having in Ann Arbor - lots of sunny days and cool evenings that invite the possibility of open windows for good sleeping.

Our Kerrytown neighborhood - has been touted as ”a haven for the unexpected, a place where vintage meets modernity” - annarbor.org. Check out their website for a deeper look at the happenings in town. Here, our streets are quiet, gardens are in full bloom and good food is celebrated by our restaurants and pubs. Our guests lately are raving about Miss Kim’s Korean fare, Eat’smagnificent sandwiches and Sparrow’s new twist on American fare. All of these spots open into the Kerrytown courtyard for outdoor eating.

Summer Fun Highlights -

A2 Summer Streets - Our Main Street downtown is open to pedestrians & closed to cars Thurs., Fri., Sat. & Sun. evenings through August. Local musicians perform every Thursday 7-9pm. The Main Street area restaurants, pubs & breweries are serving food & drinks for strolling (Sangria, frozen cocktails & mocktails, home-made ginger beer, walking tacos, smoked sliders, curry fries & more).

John E Lawrence Jazz Concert Series - every Fri. at Ford Lake Park July - Sept, 7-9pm, free concerts, $5/parking

Ann Arbor Area Craft Pass - Get the mobile phone passport to lead you on a self guided tour of townie breweries & distilleries for special deals & prizes.

Free live & virtual: Tues., Aug 23 at the ARK - Dan Navarro, songwriter, artist, singer, voice actor with a 40-year career is live streaming a concert supported by the Ford Motor Co. So, enjoy this concert from your own home at: theark.org .

Thurs. Aug. 25 - The National Theater in London is broadcasting Live at the Michigan Theater in HD. “No Man’s Land” Ian McKellen & Patrick Stewart, two of the greatest actors ever born in one of the greatest plays ever written. (Time Out)

Fri., Aug 26 at the ARK - Beau Soleil avec Michael Doucet - Potent, popular cajon music with spellbinding fiddling & vocals.

Bill’s Beer Garden - springs to life outdoors every evening each spring summer & fall, featuring craft beer, wines & community spirit.

Argo Cascades - Only a stone’s throw away from the Baxter House, this short run, of man-made pools & drops, brings on a lot of laughter, soothing temperatures & fun for all ages. Tubes, kayaks & canoes are available at the Argo Livery.

Art in Public Project - Take an art mural walk through our downtown streets for some street-art sightings. Get your guide at the Ann Arbor Art Center.
